Requirements for admission to the Bachelor of Medicine
In order to enroll in the Bachelor of Medicine program at a university or medical school, you must provide a high school diploma with excellent grades and very high scores in English tests. There is always a very large competition for medical schools and universities, therefore, a fairly strict selection of the most talented and hardworking applicants is carried out. In addition, in most medical educational institutions, for admission, an applicant must pass one or more exams (biology is mandatory, sometimes chemistry).
If the grades in the applicant’s certificate, the results of the English tests or the grades obtained in the entrance exams are not sufficient for admission to the chosen educational institution, then there is an opportunity to prepare for the next attempt at admission to specialized preparatory courses within a year. However, it should be borne in mind that each medical educational institution has its own scientific school. Therefore, not all medical schools accept the results of graduates of such courses. Some medical universities have their own preparatory courses, after the successful completion of which the applicant can enter without exams.
Terms of study for a Bachelor of Medicine
The Bachelor of Medicine program takes seven to eight years. At the same time, the student studies for the first five to six years, and during the last two years he is undergoing an internship.
