A major update to BlackBerry Limited’s managed detection and response (MDR) service, which now includes a managed extended detection and response (XDR) service, has been announced today. BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB; TSX: BB) is a global leader in mobile security. This additional functionality has been made possible through a collaboration with Exabeam. This managed XDR solution extends coverage beyond endpoints by seamlessly integrating Cylance® AI-powered BlackBerry® Optics, BlackBerry® Persona, BlackBerry® Gateway, and BlackBerry® Protect products with Exabeam Fusion SIEM and XDR solutions, resulting in comprehensive coverage.
The Exabeam security analytics and automation platform, combined with BlackBerry solutions, will provide customers with high-fidelity alerts and cross-tool threat hunting services that automatically correlate data from mobile devices, servers, users, and networks to quickly detect potential threats in real time, all visible from a single console.
“With cybercrime on the rise as a result of the epidemic, fraudsters are now targeting individuals rather than merely the infrastructure in place. BlackBerry’s Executive Vice President of Product Engineering, Billy Ho, stated that “legacy mitigation techniques built to protect organizations’ systems and infrastructure exclusively are currently inadequate to stop new attack routes.”
In order to monitor cybersecurity incident alerts, deal with and prevent attacks, and fill in the resource and skills gap, organizations operating in hybrid workplace environments require human threat experts. Using the integrated BlackBerry Guard solution, companies may access an innovative and industry-leading managed XDR service, ensuring that their employees are protected around the clock.”
Security teams may use Exabeam’s analytics-driven insights to discover, analyze, and address risks since it is the leader in next-generation SIEM.
The BlackBerry Guard managed XDR solution will enable end users to more easily achieve holistic XDR coverage with a simplified experience, according to Gorka Sadowski, Chief Strategy Officer at Exabeam. “We’re excited that after extensive due diligence, BlackBerry selected Exabeam to enable the BlackBerry Guard managed XDR solution,” Sadowski said. “By combining Exabeam Fusion SIEM and Exabeam Fusion XDR with BlackBerry AI-powered products, we will be able to provide thousands of BlackBerry clients with a powerful and prescriptive solution to address their most critical threat, detection, investigation, and response needs.”
BlackBerry Guard, in addition to facilitating interaction between the BlackBerry product suite and third-party solutions such as Exabeam, includes the following features:
- BlackBerry’s industry-leading 7th generation Cylance AI/ML models have analyzed over 1.4 trillion files, extracting over 20 billion features, enabling advanced threat detection across all products and Guard services.
- Reduce time to respond (TTR) and resolve major incidents as quickly as possible, reducing cyber risks, maximizing uptime, and eliminating threats as they emerge with AI-based auto threat responses.
- Multi-regional architecture support to ensure customers can meet their regional data residency requirements, such as GDPR.
- Constant monitoring of various attack surfaces to prevent malicious malware and phishing attacks on customer environments.
